On the evening of Thursday March 30th, 2023, a Garden Grove, California strip mall caught on fire, including a neighboring preschool. More than 40 Orange County firefighters responded to the two-alarm fire. Responders barely had time to escape when the building’s roof suddenly collapsed.

A snapshot from the video was taken of the moment when two firefighters from Orange County narrowly avoided being crushed by a burning storefront that abruptly crumbled down.
The fire started at a dry cleaner’s business and swiftly spread to a nearby preschool building. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The blaze has resulted in total damage to the businesses involved, and smoke and water damage led to the closure of various businesses in the strip mall complex. However, prompt action by first responders prevented the fire from spreading throughout the plaza. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Dry cleaners can pose a fire hazard due to the chemicals and equipment used in the cleaning process. To help prevent fires, it is crucial to follow fire prevention protocols and guidelines. This includes properly storing and handling solvents, regularly inspecting and maintaining equipment, and having fire safety systems and equipment in place, such as smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and automatic sprinklers. It is also essential to train employees on fire safety and evacuation procedures.
